The Minor Railways Section is delighted to announce that it will be holding its 8th bi-annual seminar on 20th November 2021 with the valued support of Park Signalling, Green Dragon Rail and Signal Aspects. The event will take place at the Kidderminster Railway Museum, located at the Severn Valley Railway Station, Kidderminster, DY10 1QX.
The theme of this years event is Innovation, application and progress in Minor Railway Signalling, showcasing the progress that Minor Railways have made highlighting some before and after scenarios.
Call for papers! IRSE members and non-members are welcome to submit papers not only on progress in Minor Railway signalling but also of any plans for future signalling and telecoms works on your minor railway.
At the Seminar will also be the presentation of this year's award of the Sections' "Minor Railway Signalling and Telecommunications Technician of the Year" award. Nominations are now being accepted until mid-September.
Members and non- members are welcome to attend the free event, but attendance may be limited in accordance with any government regulation then in force. The thrust of this year's event will be the showcasing of innovative work conducted in the Minor Railways sector in all its forms. We will find out what was done, with what and how it went in service, has it proved reliable and probably most importantly has it lived up to expectations.
