STEM

Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics

Governments around the world place great importance on education in the sciences, engineering and mathematics.  As both work and home life are increasingly affected by the latest developments in science and technology, it's important that young people are able to harness new opportunities and participate.

Younger Members’ Online Event: Super Train Challenge STEM Day

16th May 2020, 11:00am to 12:00pm

The Great Inventor Prerna invites you on her adventure around the world. Only online for now unfortunately but who knows? You could be joining us for adventures around the world one day. We will be hosting an interactive online event for everyone to get involved with.

Get involved!

The event will be kicked off with some of the Younger Members talking a little about their careers, including what experiences they’ve had, what impact their work has and how they got into a career in the rail industry. These talks will also include some fun facts about railways around the world!

We’ll then progress to some activities to get involved with during and after the online event:

  1. Plan an around the world route and build a globe
  2. Design the train
  3. Build the train

The best submissions from these activities will be shared on our social media accounts.

The event will be brought to a close with a short quiz so make sure you listen to those fun facts at the start of the event!

This is intended to be a family friendly event and is open for all ages to participate but please keep in mind that the main activity is aimed at school children aged between 5 and 11 years old.
