With the valued support of the Kidderminster Railway Museum, the Minor Railway Section will be holding its tenth bi-annual Technical Seminar on Saturday, 22nd November 2025. The section is again delighted to be holding the event at the Kidderminster Railway Museum, located at the Severn Valley Railway Station, Kidderminster, DY10 1QX.
The event is planned to start sharp at 10:00 and finish at 16.00.
The Seminar will also see the presentation of this year’s award for the Section’s “Minor Railway S & T Technician of the Year”. Nominations are now accepted until mid-September. Please contact Kieth Walter for details at mrsvisits@irse.org
The title of this year's event will be “Rail 200; The Journey of Minor Railways Signalling and Telecommunications”,
Various technical presentations from both standard and narrow-gauge railways will be showing the history, development and adaption of signalling and telecommunications equipment used on minor railways. There will also be a presentation about signalling development on the National Rail network.
Those who have attended in previous years have found it a very useful event to meet and engage with S & T staff of all levels from a diverse group of railways in the UK and Europe.
Trade stands and exhibition space are still available, exhibitors and signalling societies are particularly welcome at this event. Trades stands and exhibitors are subject to a small fee to help defray the Section’s costs of putting on the event.
Members and non-members are welcome to attend free of charge, we will be delighted to see you. A buffet lunch, as well as tea and coffee will be available free to delegates. Please fill in and return the below application form to
