Future Railway Mobile Communication System
25 Oct 2018 5:30 PM - 25 Oct 2018 7:30 PMAn update on the new radio system to superceed GSM-RSection: London / UK
It only seems like yesterday that the Global System for Mobile Communications – Railway (GSM-R) was developed and the roll out of this 2nd Generation (2G) radio network commenced. However work has been going on for many years now on its successor i.e. the Future Railway Mobile Communications System (FRMCS).
Pierre Tane of Kapsch CarrierComm (the provider of Network Rail’s GSM-R Core and Radio Access Network) has agreed to come all the way over from France to provide an update on the status of the work and plans to specify and develop the FRMCS system leading to the ultimate migration from GSM-R to FRMCS. This should be a very educational and informative talk from a highly regarded expert in the field, so if you are interested in what the next generation railway radio system will look like, you need to secure your seat quickly.
Due to space constraints and building security purposes, you must pre-register at: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/irse-lse-section-future-railway-mobile-communications-system-frmcs-tickets-49383930666 by the evening of Sunday 21st October.
