This year the IRSE International Technical Convention, IRSECON17, will be held in the Dallas / Fort Worth area of Texas, USA, from 25th to 29th September.
We have an exciting programme of technical papers and site visits planned for you, and of course a special programme for members' guests.
Delegates will have an initial full day of presentations on technical developments in the USA's railways, including a number from the IRSE’s International Technical Committee. Site visits later in the week include the BNSF Railway, the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), the Trinity Railway Express (TRE), the Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) and the General Electric (GE) locomotive manufacturing facility in Alliance, Texas.
These visits will showcase Light Rail Transit (LRT), freight and commuter lines, with opportunities to experience wayside signaling and Positive Train Control (PTC) installations, highway crossing warning systems at BNSF, E-ATC type PTC at DCTA, PTC installation and shops at TRE and on-board PTC and locomotive manufacturing at GE.
