Booking has opened for the 2022 IRSE Professional examinations!

Please use the 'book now' link below to book your slot for the examinations being held on Saturday 1 October 2022. This year, Education & Professional Development Committee have agreed that candidates can book either the Certificate or between 1 and 3 of the Advanced Diploma modules (modules B, C and/or D). See below and the candidate guide for further details / requirements.

Advanced Diploma in Railway Control Engineering is the new name for the IRSE Professional Examination, covering a wide syllabus of railway safety and systems engineering, principles and applications of railway control and communication systems.

• Only IRSE members (at any grade) can apply to sit one or more modules
• The cost is £115 per module
• It is a computer-based exam
• There are no exam centres, candidates choose where they sit their module on their own computer - somewhere quiet with reliable internet
• It is a closed-book exam (no text books / reference material allowed)
• It will be remotely invigilated
• There are several timeslots across the day to suit individual candidates
• All timeslot timings are given in Universal Coordinated Time (UTC)
