2019 technical seminar - Minor Railways Section
16 Nov 2019 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Section:
With the generous support of Park Signalling, the Minor Railway Section will be holding the seventh of its bi-annual seminars on the 16th November 2019.
The section is again delighted to be holding the event at the Kidderminster Railway Museum. Also at the Seminar will be the presentation of this year’s award of the Sections “Minor Railway S & T Technician of the year” award, for which nominations are accepted until mid-September.
The theme of this year's event will be “Ten years of innovation, application and progress in Minor Railway Signalling” - we will be updating the papers of the last ten years of technical seminars to find out how the innovations have fared and progressed as they have moved from ideas to in-service applications, from submissions so far there seems to be a varied and interesting programme.
Members and non- members are welcome to attend free, but attendance is limited to 100 persons and we will be delighted to see you at this event.
A buffet lunch and tea and coffee will be available free of charge to delegates. Please tell us if you have any particular dietary requirements.
Please apply to attend on the form below. For any further information please contact Major Ian Hughes at ian@greendragon.com
People that have submitted past papers are invited to contact Major Hughes at ian@4greendragon.com to update their progress and hopefully present the results at the seminar. Papers should be no more than ten minutes in duration and presented in PowerPoint format.
The thrust of this year's event will be the showcasing of innovative work conducted in the Minor Railway Sector in all its forms. We will find out what was done, with what and how it went in service, has it proved reliable and probably most importantly has it lived up to expectations?
Trade stands and exhibition space are still available and exhibitors are particularly welcome at this event. Exposure at previous events has been found very useful by previous exhibitors to the wide range of minor railways S & T staff of all levels, who attend this event. Exhibitors are subject to a small fee to help towards the Section’s costs of putting on the event.
Access to the museum is through the Severn Valley Railway station. Parking is available adjacent to the museum in the SVR car park and the National Rail Kidderminster station is just across the station forecourt.
Please note that the Institution and any of the sites visited cannot accept any responsibility for injury, damage or other difficulty that may arise. Delegates are therefore to ensure that their own insurance covers all appropriate eventualities.
