London & South East section –ETCS Interlocking Principles
26 Nov 2020 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Section: London & South East section (londonse@irse.org)

Aidan McGrady will give a presentation about the ETCS Interlocking Principles on the Paddington to Heathrow project. He will discuss some of the challenges faced in developing the functional interface between the RBC and the Interlocking, in order to maximise the benefits from deploying ETCS and how this could be simplified and improved for future ETCS schemes.

Aidan McGrady is a Senior CCS Engineer in Network Rail who started out on the railway as a Network Rail graduate in 2007.  He currently works as a Senior Project Engineer on the Paddington to Heathrow ETCS scheme. Previously he had been involved in the ETCS reference design development, and with the research and development into CCS technologies as part of Shift2Rail. For four years he was a Lead Engineer with the ERTMS Users Group in Brussels updating the ETCS specifications and leading the development of ATO and GPRS specifications for the CCS TSI. Prior to this, Aidan worked on the FTN/GSM-R project.

Please register before 1700 on 26th November via Eventbrite.
